MPO Ltd. Kraków is a municipal company dealing in the removal and transportation of solid and liquid waste, collected from 48 000 clients from Kraków and 22 municipal areas. The company is also the holder of a permit for the provision of the same service to a further 16 municipal areas. In 2006 MPO Ltd. Generated an income of 20 million Euro, and it currently employs 496 people. The company's estate is valued at 20.5 million Euro, and it includes 209 specialist vehicles worth 10 million Euro, the latest models of Mercedes, Man, Volvo, Mitsubishi, Jelcz and Liaz, which comply with the exhaust fumes emission standards Euro 4. MPO LTD is the largest company in the waste management sector in Kraków, with a population of 750 000, and the whole of Małopolska region, with 3 200 000 inhabitants.

In 2006, MPO Ltd collected over 200 000 tons of solid waste and 27 000 m3 of liquid waste from its clients, which comprises a 60% share of the waste management market in Kraków. The solid waste, collected in Kraków, is transported to the municipal landfill site "Barycz". In 2006, 7000 tons of waste delivered by other companies was additionally deposited in the Barycz landfill.

Till 1990 MPO was the only company taking care for waste disposal in Kraków and other neighbouring areas. After the transformation of local authorities new companies began operating on a local market. We estimate that our market share currently is about 60% within Kraków area. MPO is the biggest and best equipped cleaning and waste management company in the region - we provide our services in 38 neighbour communities.

Our priority is to limit the destructive influence of waste on environment in Kraków area, especially by garbage segregation, modernization of waste management system and pro-ecological education.
Accordance with European Union standards
MPO is going to respect and apply all EU rules in the field of waste management. Acceptation of waste disposal hierarchy - it is crucial to follow consequently recycling terms i.e. selective waste collecting, treatment and useful materials recovery. All the impossible to recycle waste shall be stored in the landfill and, in the future burnt in the ecological incineration plant.
Self-sufficiency - arrangements for co-operation with companies operating in other regions leading to creating and maintaining an integrated network of waste processing and management objects.
Best solutions at low costs - reduction of pollution emission using most economically effective methods.
Producer's responsibility - preparation to implement a closed chain of products, components and materials circulation starting from the moment of supplying a final product to the level of its recycling.
